Account data: Email address, display name, avatar, and authentication credentials.
Location data: GPS coordinates when you use the map, check in, share your location with friends, or browse nearby spots. Location data is collected only while the app is in use and with your explicit permission.
Usage data: Interactions with sponsored placements (impressions, clicks), map preferences, and notification settings.
User-generated content: Check-ins, sun reports, shoutouts, chat messages, and terrace reports.

• Enable social features (friend locations, check-ins, chat)
• Display relevant sponsored content and measure ad effectiveness
• Send sun forecasts and safety notifications (with your consent)
• Improve the accuracy of our sun scoring algorithms
Location sharing with friends is opt-in and can be disabled at any time in Settings. When disabled, your location is not stored or visible to other users.
Check-in and shoutout location data expires automatically (24 hours for check-ins, 2 hours for sun reports).
We do not sell your location data to third parties.
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account
• Check-ins & shoutouts: Auto-expire after 24 hours
• Sun reports: Auto-expire after 2 hours
• Chat messages: Retained while your account is active
• Sponsored event logs: Anonymized after 90 days
We use the following third-party services:
• OpenStreetMap / Overpass API: Map tiles and point-of-interest data
• Open-Meteo: Weather and cloud cover data
• TheFork / OpenTable: Restaurant booking links (affiliate partnerships)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data via your profile settings
• Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account)

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also track sponsored content interactions (impressions/clicks) to measure ad performance. You can manage your tracking preferences via the consent banner shown on first visit.
